It was born out of the atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic, in which the use of masks became necessary to inhabit society, while the threat of global eco-environmental disaster loomed. From the body and movement, along with a network of narrative techniques alternative to traditional theater, the piece weaves together a live soundtrack performed by the Q-Arte Quartet, videomapping, spatial and lighting design, all in close dialogue with visual arts.

LaMultiverse incubates this work, questioning whether humanity is truly reaching its end as a species, or if a new evolution could emerge that would allow its survival as hybrid beings human-hongo-planta.

Under the direction of choreographer Angélica Roa and together with a team of 18 interdisciplinary artists, the work moves from the dystopia of the Anthropocene — conceived as a degenerative period of the human species — toward a new era called the Biocene, in which a vegetal hybridization in humans takes place.
